The Messy Details (FAQ)

THE TOOLS
I use a large format camera. Yes, it makes a large piece of film with lots of detail. But much more importantly, it gives so much more control. Of perspective, focus, and absolute control of exposure.

And there is something about the discipline. As long as I am going to lug this thing around and set it all up, I might as well take the time to do the best that I can.

THE PRINTS
All of my personal work is color. To me, the real world is color, and I like reality. The prints are archival because I would like to think that people want to have them around for a while. I only make twelve prints of any image. I hope to find eleven people who like an image enough to own it. I’ll probably keep one for myself.

HOW ARE THESE PRINTS MADE?
The original large format transparency is scanned at high resolution. The high resolution scan is then used to print this image onto canvas. This method enables me to make this photographic print that is archival and, very importantly, is as accurate as the original piece of film.

WHAT SIZE ARE THE PRINTS?
These prints are available in two sizes: 38x48 inches, or 30x30 inches. All prints are signed and numbered.

OK. HOW MUCH?
The 38x48’s are $1595.00, and the 30x30’s are $1395.00. This price includes a very simple and clean wood frame. Because these prints are on canvas, they can be shipped to you rolled up and unframed. The price for the 38x48 is then $1450.00, and the 30x30 is $1295.00. Any frame shop that can handle framing paintings on canvas can frame these for you. I pay the freight for delivery.

An alternative: If the time of year is right and you live where I need to see the country, I will deliver to your door. Purchasing more than one greatly increases the chances of this.

ONE MORE THING
If you truly need a size other than the above options, contact me. Odds are very good we can work something out.
